      The people. As much as I enjoy what I do and many aspects, such as travel, the reason I’ve gotten through bad days and persevered, is my colleagues.
      My colleagues have been the most welcoming and happy to help group of people I have ever met. Everyone at CERN is here for a similar purpose and for the most part this comes before nationalities, politics and any other differences.

      The best part of my job is working with my coleagues to solve tricky problems. I also get to play with stuff a lot, whether it’s making models in software or creating new demonstrations for outreach

      The work I do is genuinely interesting and challenging, and no two problems are the same. It’s this variety which keeps me interested in my job. Plus the results of my work contribute towards cutting edge science the whole of society can benefit from.
