      At university my favourite project was to build a robot which could navigate around a painted floor and sort through and deliver “presents” through special made miniature letter boxes (it had a Christmas theme).
      Since joining RAL Space, my favourite project has been a research one to develop a “cold atom gravimeter”, which is a device which uses quantum physics (which I don’t understand!) to measure gravity very accurately – so it could be used for things like detecting underground water reservoirs and monitoring sea level rises.
