• Question: have your parents helped you with the decision to become an engineer

      My parents supported me with helping me think through all the different options available to me. We also discussed what different working environments would be like, like whether I’d prefer to work alone or in teams, travel a lot, do shift work, do more design and calculations or more hands on jobs. It was very useful for me to spend time thinking this through especially as I really had no idea what to do after school or uni.
