That it’s perfectly fine! Lots of people are in the same position throughout university (I didn’t know if I wanted to be a mechanical or electronic engineer) and even after graduation! Do you know much about what different engineering roles are out there? There’s lots of information out there on the internet, and of course talking to actual engineers can be really helpful. And just because one field may be of interest, doesn’t mean that’s a fixed decision – especially in the modern world there are opportunities to go and try different engineering roles throughout you career.

Do it anyway! Engineering is so vast and gives you so many skills. You’ll find something you like and it can also be great to do work experience. Some of my friends who were good at engineering have ended up in other jobs for example finance, project management and consulting. However I enjoy the thought of seeing tangible results – designing pipes and tanks and seeing them come to life!
