      Hello George,
      Cryogenics is very broad. It includes the study of materials at very low temperatures and the things you can do with materials at low temperatures. For example I use liquid helium at -270 to cool magnets so that they can become superconducting. This means they have extremely low electrical and thermal resistance, and then they can be used to control particles around our particle accelerators!
