      Hi!
Where I work, I know lot’s of girls who are really passionate about science. They love technology, developing and running experiments. Unfortunately, it is true that generally science professions outside medicine are dominated by men. This environment can also be off putting in some cases. But this is exactly why we need more girls in all aspects of science and engineering! Let’s fix the balance!

Unfortunately, yes I do. I wasn’t really aware of this at school myself, but at university and at work I have learnt from females in STEM fields that many of them were discouraged at a young age from following maths/science. I think this is a massive shame, especially if somebody enjoys those subjects and has potential to succeed as a scientist/engineer. I’ve read articles which show evidence suggesting a diverse workforce is more productive, so I believe more females in the field will be a positive. Hopefully this won’t be so common in the not-so distant future.
